Tutor profile

What do you love about physics?

I love how physics gives me an insight into things we sometimes take for granted like ‘why is the sky blue?’. A good grounding in physics also helps with more practical problems like ‘how much will this cost?’ or ‘how far will I get on this tank of fuel?’.

How did you become a Tutor?

I became a tutor to help students in a more focused manner than I am normally able during my classroom teaching. I can apply techniques across my teaching and tutoring roles to help me become better at both.

What have your students achieved?

My students enjoy the relaxed, but challenging atmosphere I encourage in the classroom. I want them to feel stretched by the problems I set, but they never feel like they cannot ask for guidance when they are struggling.

What do you do in your spare time?

Outside of tutoring and teaching I can normally be found on a climbing wall or walking my dog, Luna, along the beaches and moors of Devon.
