As an English specialist, Cecilia has recently moved to Exeter to complete her PhD at Exeter University.
She has experience of tutoring in London where she has helped pupils prepare for competitive 11+ assessments and has also written 11+ practice exams. Cecilia also tutors pupils in GCSE English Language and Literature and students who are completing their functional skills course.
Having worked with students who were refugees and asylum seekers from war-torn countries, Cecilia brings empathy and insight to her tuition which is crucial when building rapport with young people.
'Most of the time students just need consistent encouragement to believe in themselves, then progress follows naturally. Academic studies and preparing for examinations can be intense and put an undue amount of pressure on students, so creating a friendly and relaxed environment in which to learn is really important; sessions should be enjoyable and stimulating, rather than stressful.'Contact Cecilia
