Biography

After obtaining an Upper Second Class BA (Hons) in Italian and Philosophy with Russian studies, Elyza decided to stay at Exeter and pursue a Masters (Hons) in Theology, achieving Merit. After 5 years of teaching experience, she has decided to undertake a  doctorate in Education (EdD) at University of Plymouth, focusing on inequalities in social policy.

Upon finishing her studies, Elyza joined Teach First's Training Programme. She gained QTS and was awarded Distinction for her PGCert in Secondary Education from Canterbury Christchurch University in the summer of 2021.

She completed further training as an ECT Teacher of Religious Studies at a leading inner city London academy, to which she contributed to its Ofsted rating of Outstanding (2023), as Head of Personal Development.

Elyza continues to thrive in her teaching practice as a SEND specialist teacher where she provides tailored learning support and practical study skills. This role also includes supporting pupils to obtain suitable exam arrangements to empower students with diverse needs.

Whilst pursuing a Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD), her strong commitment to professional growth and evidence-based practice is reinforced. Through Continual Professional Development via Nasen and other leading SEND organisations, Elyza also consistently stays updated to ensure her tutoring approach remains current and impactful.

'I believe in a friendly, supportive approach to tutoring, where a calm and positive environment encourages students to thrive. Informed by contemporary educational research, I foster confidence and understanding in students, helping them to succeed in exams while also equipping them with the skills needed for lifelong learning and future academic challenges. My work spans one-to-one and small group interventions, curriculum development, and pastoral care, all underpinned by a deep belief in inclusive education and helping every learner thrive.'
